Mary Katrantzou for Adidas

Following the steps of Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, Rick Owens and, more recently, Pharrell Williams, Mary Katrantzou collaborates with Adidas and the result is breath taking. The Greek designer famous for her digital prints brings sportswear to a whole new level.

Her main source of inspiration were the track shoes worn by medal winners in the 1970s and 1980s. “Mary is a true innovator in her use of color and print as well as her experimentation with embroidery and other applications,” said Dirk Schoenberger, Adidas Sport Style Creative Director. “She brings all of these strengths into the world of sport-inspired style and applies her unique perspective to sneakers and apparel, creating a great fusion of high fashion, street wear and technology.”

Here, a first look at Originals by Mary Katrantzou, a Technicolor-printed offering in stores November 15.
It is one of the times when sportswear is designed for runway and not running.

Alber Elbaz for Lancome

Back in January, Lancôme announced that it was collaborating on a makeup collection with Alber Elbaz and now it is finally launched. The collection focuses solely on eyes, which was Elbaz’s decision. “I spend my time backstage at the Lanvin shows, and when I come out at the end, all I see are people’s eyes,” Elbaz told. His inspiration was the shape of the iconic Hypnose mascara containers which reminded him of a woman’s figure.

There aren’t any new colors or products in this collection since what Lanvin's artistic director did was a restyle in Lancôme's four leading mascaras and classic Lancôme palettes and mascaras. He created four different designs–Star, Doll, Drama, and Definicils–which correspond to the brand’s popular mascara names. Elbaz has added a personal touch to the collection by launching fake eyelashes that come in an illustrated box.
