Trend Alert - The plaid shirt

Plaid, check, tartan...No matter how you call it, this shirt is not a trend but a fashion eternity. An all time classic piece that every woman should have in her closet.
Some people may connect it with lumberjacks and '90s grunge rock music, but I am going to show you many ways to style it for different occasions so that you can make looks that stand out.

Lets start with some basics. Jeans and pants, skinny or loose matched with sneakers, biker boots or pumps depending on where you are going. You can wear anything you can imagine on top of it. A leather perfecto jacket for classic rock outfits or even a wool cape can make you look fashionable and can take you from day to night.

Match your plaid shirt with skirts and look feminine and cool at once. My favorite types of skirts would be ripped jean skirts and leather pencil or pleated skirts. Style it with statement necklaces and killer high heel sandals and you will make many heads turn.

Create layers with sweaters and vests for your morning looks...

Or just wear it around your waist...Looks so cool with a bomber jacket.

Who said that you can't match it with more plaid? There are no rules. Use different colors and patterns and style your shirt with a plaid jacket or skirt and create a very bold outfit. Also match it with a very formal skirt in order to look effortless and chic.

No matter what your style is, there is one shirt for you out there. Here are some of my favorites.
